“NEVER
FELT SO GOOD.” MODERN FURNITURE DESIGNER, DAMIAN VELASQUEZ,
PREVIEWS HIS NEW LINE OF FURNITURE THAT MAKES INNOVATIVE USE OF FELT.
Form meets function
as striking compositions are visualized and created by modern
furniture
designer Damian Velásquez. His latest creation, the “Never
Felt So Good” Dresser is an exciting blend of brushed steel,
wood and felt! Irresistible to touch, this dresser is making
a statement with its finely crafted steel frame combined with drawers
and panels that are clad in a classic grey felt. The dresser’s
design is a reinvention of his now popular, “Don’t Fall
Down” dresser that in and of itself is already a break-through
design with its off-kilter drawers.
Thoroughly innovative
and modern – Velásquez knows he’s hit on something
totally different with his “Never Felt So Good” Dresser. “I’ve
been really intrigued with boxes and drawers that manipulate space. I
wanted to push that structure further by adding texture and felt seemed
like a natural choice. It’s warm and fuzzy but really modern
and clean at the same time. I really think my customers will
enjoy this new take.”
A native New
Mexican and artist since the age of ten, Velásquez has manipulated
his skills as a welder and jewelry maker into his passion of creating
modern furniture. He conceives timeless designs that have drawn
a clientele that goes well beyond New Mexico’s boundaries.
His furniture
line includes beds, tables, barstools, chairs, buffets, desks and dressers.
All of his forms are clean and uncomplicated in a polished, elegant
style. You can view his products online at www.modernhandcrafted.com or
visit his studio located at 3212 Stanford Drive NE, Albuquerque, New
Mexico, 505-884-5200.
